The new 2021 Ford Raptors have just started trickling into a few dealerships, but we expect many more to arrive in the coming weeks. Shults Ford in Pennsylvania has a Metallic Black Raptor listed for $84,570 on their site. The base price for a Raptor is listed by Ford at $64,145, so it either has $20,000 in accessories or it's got a hefty mark-up. I'm guessing it's mostly the latter. We've heard of two other dealerships receiving a single Raptor, one in Kentucky and the other in Louisiana.
The Gen 3 Raptor is said to put out 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque, which is identical to the previous Gen 2 Raptor. However, there are the added improvements of Fox Live Valve internal bypass shocks, 24-inch coil springs, and a five-link rear suspension. Though these suspension improvements are worthwhile, it begs the question if it's worth buying this 2021 Raptor with the 3.5L EcoBoost V6, or if one should wait for the Raptor R with it's 5.2L Predator V8 that's set to rival the TRX.
I think the answer to that question lies in how long you'd be willing to wait, and how much more you'd be willing to spend on your Raptor. Personally, I'd love to see the Ranger Raptor come stateside, but there is no sign of Ford even considering it.
