New spyshot photos of the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited prototypes have leaked online showcases some changes to the next generation Wrangler. One of the biggest standouts from these photos are the exposed hinges on the doors and base of the windshield, which have been a staple of the Wrangler.
Unlike the current generation Wrangler, the windshield on the new 2018 JEEP Wrangler JL looks to be flatter, going back to the older YJ and TJ generations. With a flatter windshield those hinges at the base may become more functional for a fold-down windshield compared to the Wrangler JKs slightly curvature.
This particular Wrangler JL is outfitted with BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires, which may suggest that JEEP is going to be releasing an off-road specced version compared to other spy photos that had the new Wrangler wearing more pavement oriented tires. Some changes to the front end have also been made, the JL Wrangler looks to have a rounder front end and the front turn signals are no longer integrated into the front grille like the JK, but back on the front of the fenders like the TJ models.
No news what is under the hood for the new 2018 JEEP Wrangler JL, but stay tuned for the new models debut at the LA Auto Show this fall for more details.
